Contract Award: Weapons Intelligence Facility

PRESS RELEASE – I’m pleased to announce today’s contract award for the design and construction of an Operations Support Squadron Weapons and Tactics Intelligence Facility at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska.

This project, known as EIE385, will provide a 12,000-square-foot facility to support the F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter aircraft mission.  It will feature areas for administrative work, conference sessions and training, while housing space for personnel storage as well as a break room, restrooms with showers, arctic entries and rooms for utilities.

In addition, the facility will include a secure communications area along with a roof and space configured and constructed to meet security requirements for the intelligence mission.  Other notable aspects are vehicle parking, information systems, fire protection and alarm systems, intrusion detection system, separate Joint Worldwide Intel Communications System area, energy monitoring control systems connection, uninterrupted power supply and emergency back-up generator system.

Eklutna Construction and Maintenance, LLC of Eagle River will execute this military construction project under a contract valued at $11,824,501.17.

The scheduled completion date for this contract is May 2019.
